JAROSLAV RÖSSLER (1902–1990)
První český avantgardní fotograf a člen Devětsilu se vyučil u firmy Drtikol a spol. (1917–1920), odkud si také odvedl manželku, Gertrudu Fischerovou (1894–1976). Partneři pobývali od prosince 1927 do léta 1935 v Paříži, poté působili v Praze. Ojedinělým tvůrčím odkazem autora nejstarších českých fotogramů a vynálezce fotofotogramů jsou abstrahující vize, rozvíjené během více než půlstoleté umělecké dráhy.
Jaroslav Rössler patří společně s Františkem Drtikolem, Josefem Sudkem a Jaromírem Funkem k světově proslulým českým fotografům, jejichž díla jsou vyhledávána na prestižních aukcích. Původní Rösslerovy fotografie (vintage) jsou v Čechách již nedostupné. Dcera Jaroslava Rösslera a zároveň dědička autorských práv připravila pro Galerii Art unikátní kolekci 42 nových zvětšenin, tzv. "retirage" v limitovaném počtu 2 ks od každé fotografie.

JAROSLAV RÖSSLER (1902–1990)
First Czech avant-garde photographer, member of the Devětsil club. Studied at the firm Drtikol and co. (1917–1920), where he also met his wife, Gertruda Fischerová (1894–1976). The couple lived in Paris from December 1927 until the summer of 1935; they later worked in Prague. Creator of the oldest Czech photograms and the photophotograms, his artistic legacy is an abstract vision developed during a career of more than a half-century.
Jaroslav Rössler together with Frantisek Drtikol, Josef Sudek and Jaromir Funk rank among world-famous Czech photographers. Their works are sought after at prestigious auctions. Rössler`s original photographs (vintage) are not available in the Czech Republic any more. His daughter, the heiress to copyright, has prepared a unique collection for the Art Gallery. This collection is limited, and contains 2 pieces of each of the 42 new enlargements, so-called „retirage“.

To the exhibition it was issued the photographic publication Jaroslav Rössler – Abstract Photography 1923-1978. The book contained 80 photographs, the text about the author from Josef Moucha and the author´s biography .
